This light usually works fine. But, sometimes it decides to flicker or fade momentarily before coming back on to the desired level. Maybe this is only a problem because I have it set up with a dimmer (Lutron). The light will flicker whether it is set to full power or some lower level. It works well about 90% of the time. The manufacturer claims that no transformer is necessary to hook up the 12V bulb to the 120V line. My electrical engineering knowledge thinks that something is wrong with lack of a transformer in the system. I hope that my house doesn't burn down because of this. So, I don't turn this light on very often.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Small, contemporary-like light. Our white light great against our white ceiling. Don't have the chance to move it much, but we could. Would definitely recommend this to others.

  • Q: Can this be installed in a damp location? We want to put them in the ceiling of our screened porch.

    A: There are alot of outdoor or damp location spots on the website Kichler Lighting makes one .(15087AZT) that is simular to the one you picked by Progress. The only downfall to this style in damp location is that they are 12 Volt.
